Creative Projects
Start with a fold. Make it yours.
Explore a handmade journal, a small gift notebook, or a sketchbook using paper suitable for your project. These ideas require your own paper and any additional cover or finishing materials your binding method needs. Paper and finished notebooks in styling photos are not included.
Prepare your signatures
- Fold your paper carefully in half.
- Place the fold in the cradle, then position the guide over it.
- Choose your hole positions and carefully use the matching awl to pierce the fold.
- Repeat the same positions for the remaining folded sections.
The guide prepares holes for binding; completing a book also requires a suitable stitching method. Choose instructions appropriate for your paper, cover, and experience level.
Before you begin
The awl and needles are sharp, and the plastic tool can have sharp edges. Work on a stable surface and keep sharp tools away from young children. Practice on spare paper before starting your finished book.
